Limit Use of My Sensitive Personal Information
Required notice under California's CPRA and similar state laws.
What "Sensitive PI" means under California law
California's CPRA defines several categories as "Sensitive Personal Information," including precise geolocation, government-issued IDs, financial account info, racial/ethnic origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, biometric data, health data, and contents of private communications.
The only category we collect is: ๐ก Precise geolocation (your phone's GPS coords).
How we use your precise geolocation
| Use | Status |
|---|---|
| Detect proximity to a pickleball court (auto check-in) | ๐ข ALLOWED โ this is the core service |
| Show "you are here" dot on the map (your phone only) | ๐ข ALLOWED โ visual aid only, not transmitted |
| Build a movement profile of you over time | ๐ด NEVER |
| Sell or share with data brokers | ๐ด NEVER |
| Infer demographics, health, religion, sexual orientation, or political views | ๐ด NEVER |
| Make automated decisions about you (legal effects, employment, housing, etc.) | ๐ด NEVER |
| Train AI / ML models | ๐ด NEVER |
| Target advertising | ๐ด NEVER |
| Cross-reference with other apps you use | ๐ด NEVER |
Because we already limit our use of your sensitive PI to only what's necessary to provide the service, this opt-out is largely informational. You're already protected by our minimum-use design.
Three ways to limit / disable our use of your geolocation
- ๐ข Easiest: Tap the "Auto check-in" toggle in the app header โ switch to OFF. The app still works as a court directory; we never read your location.
- ๐ข Most permanent: iPhone โ Settings โ Pickleball NOW โ Location โ Never. Hard block at the OS level.
- ๐ข Wipe everything: Long-press app icon โ Delete App. Or in browser: clear site data for playlocalgame.com. All local data including your anonymous device ID is erased.
